Gateway Employment Resources, Inc. Hosts an EMPLOYMENT TRENDS Networking Breakfast
Gateway Employment Resources recently hosted an Employment Trends Networking breakfast meeting at Spring Hollow Golf Club. The key speaker was Carmen Italia, President of the Montgomery County Industrial Development Corporation. Gateway Employment Resources also presented an Employer Recognition award to Greg Winans, Vice President of US Restaurants followed by an employer testimonial from Chris Mancini, general manager of Fred Beans Limerick.
Mr. Giraldi stated that Gateway Employment Resources provides cost effective, comprehensive employment services and supports for people with disabilities throughout the Philadelphia area; but its primary focus is local Montgomery and Chester Counties youth and adults seeking employment.
Renee Chesler, Gateway board member and facilitator of the breakfast meeting reported that “Gateway is funded by both private and public sources; Gateway Resources has placed hundreds of individuals with disabilities into competitive community employment. The service is free for any employer looking for a qualified applicant and Gateway staff will accompany the new hire to the job site and provide on-the-job training at no cost to the employer and employers may qualify for available tax credits for hiring a person with a disability.
Mr. Giraldi also stated that “Gateway Resources excellent reputation has been built on the concept of an individual placement in a non-segregated work environment at minimum or above minimum wage for all people with disabilities. This model of employment has remained the backbone of Gateways Resources successful program. We have developed our program around the interests, skills and abilities of our participants while we continue to cultivate and develop employment opportunities with local employers”.
