Gateway offers employers and people with disabilities the opportunity to meet each others' needs. Gateway provides the support necessary to link business and industry with a source of job-ready candidates. In order to create these successful partnerships, several types of services are tailored specifically to your business and the job candidate's requirements.
Prescreening is the first phase when an individual is referred to our service. Gateway's Employment Specialists/Job Coaches utilize a variety of screening and assessment tools to determine a person's work skills and interests.
Job Analysis allows Gateway to define the responsibilities of the job as well as the needs of your business. The job will be broken down into specific detail by the Job Coach to identify the skills necessary to succeed on the job. When an appropriate candidate is identified by Gateway for your opening, an interview will be scheduled at your convenience. If you decide to hire through Gateway, job coaching services are provided at no cost.
Job Coaching is a unique benefit to employers, offered at your work site. The Job Coach will accompany your new employee to the job and be trained alongside your new employee. After your company provides initial training, the coach will then work one on one with your employee, tailoring the instruction to the individual's learning styles. Also, the Job Coach can work with managers in the training process to make recommendations to help your new employee gain success and independence on the job. After this is achieved, the Job Coach will begin fading out from the work site -- usually within one to three weeks.
Follow Up services are performed by Gateway's Job Coaches after your initial training. Regular contact is maintained during an individual's first year on the job, and then twice a year thereafter.
In Addition to the hands-on service we provide, Gateway can also be your resource for information on tax incentive programs, job accommodations and disability awareness issues.
