Q. If I have an opening, or anticipate an opening, can I call a Gateway Job Developer to see if he or she has a qualified candidate?

A. Yes. If an opening comes up, please let us know and we'll see if we have a qualified candidate.


Q. I have an important need in shipping/receiving. Can an Employment Specialist come out and analyze the duties to see if it's a viable job for a client of your agency

A. Your needs are important. An Employment Specialist can usually come out within 24 hours to look at the job.


Q. If someone has difficulty communicating or comprehending, how do I interview the applicant?

A. Prior to the interview, the Employment Specialist will give you pointers on how to interview the applicant and during the interview will be present to help you better understand each other.


Q. What if it is not working out? Am I obligated to keep this worker?

A. No. Our agency has a very high rate of successful placements. However, if an individual is not successful, the separation from employment is handled professionally with the employee understanding the reasons and going through the normal termination process.


Q. How much help can the Employment Specialist provide, and is he or she available even after the initial training?

A. The Employment Specialist assists with all aspects of the training, using step-by-step training methods. After the initial training period, the specialist is available to handle any changes in the employee's duties, or if key coworkers leave, for example. Employment Specialists are also available to provide retraining if required.
